The DMC-ZS7 - A Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera With All Your Favorite Features, and GPS Thrown In

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black)
Panasonic has won quite a fan following for its line of intelligent user-friendly cameras. The Lumix DMC-ZS7 picks up where last year's ZS3 left off, with a few additional features - you get manual and semi-manual shooting, you get an inbuilt GPS receiver. With the package rounded out with competent HD video recording, a good wide-angle lens, a decent 12x zoom and intelligent controls for aperture and exposure, what you get is one of the best, most reliable packages in a camera possible. The fact that this Panasonic Lumix digital camera is available to you at an affordable price point that hovers around $300 means you have a real winner on your hands. Let us go in a little deeper.

The Lumix DMC-ZS7 comes with a 14 megapixel sensor (even if you only actually get to use 12), and a bright enough 3 inch LCD. The function that is most likely to attract beginner photographers is the Intelligent Automatic. In most difficult situations - taking a picture of a sunset, taking pictures without the flash on - the Intelligent Automatic manages to adjust the exposure, sensitivity and other controls perfectly without any user input. In certain tricky situations, if you do desire to override the Intelligent Automatic function and make adjustments yourself, this model of Panasonic Lumix digital camera allows you to do it - which is more than can be said for last year's ZS3.

Is the ZS7 perfect? The flash, even if it is much improved over last year's model, certainly could be more powerful. As it is, low light shots with the flash on,sometimes appear slightly grainy. Especially so at the ISO 400 and 800 settings. The battery life could be better. Charge it all the way up, and it's probably not going to last you more than a day. The star feature of this camera (apart from the Leica lens of course), is the inbuilt GPS. Using the GPS turns out to be quite simple. It does take quite a while to retrieve the satellite information for your current location. Sometimes, it takes a minute, and sometimes it takes longer. It all depends on where you are and how much direct line of sight you have to the sky. For people who don't really need to have an exact location printed to their image files, this isn't really much of a deal. For those who do a lot of traveling all around, it can be quite a convenience to always know where exactly a picture was taken.

People usually pick a Panasonic Lumix digital camera for the great video capture that it offers. The ZS7 is no exception. It gives you 720p HD in AVCHD Lite and Motion JPEG. And you do get to use all of the cameras features while you shoot video - continuous autofocus, image stabilization and zoom. And you get to record sound while you zoom. People love the Panasonic Lumix digital camera for the freedom it allows them while shooting video; it certainly seems justified.

Nikon Camera D3100 Review - Pros and Cons Analysis of Nikon D3100

Just recently, Nikon launched its latest dSLR camera, the Nikon D3100. Positioned as a middle-low dSLR camera, Nikon D3100 price is quite affordable. This may cause someone to wonder, "What about the features/technologies and performance of this camera?" It may be a valued dSLR camera, but user will still expect to get a high-quality camera. Moreover, this edition is claimed to be the successor of Nikon D3000, a highly successful product which brought Nikon to closing the gap with Canon. This short Nikon D3100 review is intended to answer the simple question "Is Nikon D3100 price worth what it offers?"

In order to answer that question, this article will present Nikon D3100 review in three main points, the "what went well", "what needs to be improved" and "who needs it the most."

What went well?

High quality photos - Photos quality produced by Nikon D3100 is amazing, even under ISO 800 setting. People could even get better photos by adjusting the ISO settings up to ISO 3200. The color reproduction is very great and no over saturation noticed.

Picture sharpness - Picture sharpness greatly depends on the lens quality used. Unfortunately, Nikon D3100 coming with a highly reliable 18-55mm VR kit lens. Professional photographer may opt for 28-300mm VR kit, with which the picture sharpness will be lifelike. However, less-professional ones will find the bundled lens is more than enough.

The video recording capability is amazing. Able to record a Full HD 1080p video at both 24 and 30 fps (frame per second) is quite exceptional for a dSLR camera. In addition to that, user can also do simple editing within the camera (ie. deleting scenes, saving particular frames, etc).

Guide Mode - Nikon Guide Mode is a user-friendly guide mode embedded in the camera itself and full manual controls in video capture. The guide mode will be exceptionally helpful for families, which are inexperienced with dSLR camera before, to learn more about photography as well as the full features of Nikon D3100.

What needs to be improved?

Small viewfinder - Body of Nikon D3100 is quite small and compact. User will find no difficulty in carrying it around, however, the downside is that the viewfinder is quite small. Although it has no significant impact and eventually user will get used to it, it's worth to be noted.

Slower camera performance - The power on and shooting time is between 0.4 - 0.6 seconds, depends on the light conditions. The shot-to-shot timing for taking JPEG images is between 0.6 - 0.9 seconds. Albeit could be a distraction for professional photographer, it may not really affect the less-professional photographer. After all, if you're a professional one, you will not go for Nikon D3100.

Who needs it the most?

Hobbyist

Less-professional photographer

User searching for the best dSLR camera with limited budget

Best Ways to Photograph a Baseball Game With Your Favorite Players Emotion on Still Camera by T. Dudson

Photographing a game is a real talent. Baseball is one of the games with very fast ball movement in the field. It is hard to catch each and every moment on the camera. But there are some tips to make it memorable. Arrive early for the game either it is a minor league or a high school or college level game. Shoot the moments where few audiences tailgate the players for autographs. Get the practice and warm up session in your camera. This would help you locate your favorite player's jersey color and number. Knowing the jersey number would make you feel 100 percent sure when you shoot close up emotions of your favorite player in game.

Make sure your camera has good focal length and magnifying capability. The better the lens the better your photograph would be. If the game is played by both the team with offense, then it needs real talent to take close up actions of the player in 100mph speed. If the game is defensive, then sit behind the pitcher position for capturing all the emotions up close. When the game is offensive, be willing to change positions from pitcher's side to the front of the pitcher and sides of the umpires for better photography.

Safety is important for everyone not only for the players. It is not a shame to wear a baseball helmet or cap while you are taking photographs of the game sitting very close to the boundary of the field. There are chances of foul balls that could fly and hit you in very high speed. Better to be protective than getting yourself bed ridden. Keep an eye for the game through your both eyes. Choose the right safer and comfortable accessories before you plan to shoot your players emotion on camera closely.

Top Players In Digital Camera Market

Selecting a digital camera is definitely not an easy task with hundreds of brands available in the market. Before you decide to buy, you should take a look at the many features like optical quality, zoom, storage media and etc. These are only a few features among the many digital camera models to be compared. In terms of image quality, the amount of mega pixel resolution and the quality of the lens are the main factors that determine the sharpness of the pictures. And one of the best ways to know the quality and crispness of pictures is to see a printed picture.

As for image storage, there are many different kinds of storage media or flash memory cards available for digital cameras, which are rewritable chips that do not require power in order to retain the content. This makes it possible to take many photos without the fear of losing them before they are stored in CD-ROM or hard disk of the computer.

Surely, choosing a digital camera is not an easy task with so many models and range of mega pixels, features and different prices. Some of major brands available in the market are Argus, BenQ, Canon, Casio, Disney, Epson, Fujifilm, HP, JVC America, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Polaroid, Ricoh, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony and Toshiba. The first digital cameras were created almost 30 years ago, and it was big in size and weighted more than 8 pounds. Its creator and developer was the famous engineer Mr. Eastman Kodak. It recorded different images on a cassette and the resolution was far less than what we have today.
The first hand held camera was created in 1981, and it was very popular. It was called Sony Mavica and it used analogue signals (not digital) to store images. The world had to wait for more ten years before the first digital camera hit the market. It was the famous Fuji DS-1P which had a memory card with 16MB for image storage. Mega-pixel resolution was introduced to users during the nineties, and that`s when the digital revolution began.

At first, digital cameras were very expensive so only a few could actually enjoy their benefits. After its mass production began worldwide, they became a gadget for almost everyone. If you need to buy this fabulous gadget, check out the following tips:

Always keep track with the new updated features of the digital camera. And be sure that the shooting speed is not slow, because it may be quite a problem for some models. Stick to popular brands, because they are around for ages and their technology is advanced, tested and is constantly improving. Also they will give you a sure guarantee for the product.

Also check out the size because some amazing devices can be light and weight no more than 8 ounces (easily fit in your pocket). These super portable models can cost from $200 to $400. If you don`t plan to put your camera in the pocket, even better selection can be found, usually slightly bigger models. They are still considered lightweight, but are less expensive. Of course, the size does not necessarily dictate the price. It has some influence, but you are not paying only for the hardware here, as software also matters.

The biggest and most advanced digital cameras are SLRs. They have the best power solutions and greatest versatility as well as lenses which are interchangeable.

If you are not a professional photographer, you should not worry much about the mega-pixel resolution. Although there are 7 to 10 and more mega-pixels models on the market that will cost more, amateur photographers should get fine quality photos with a 6 mega-pixel devices, as the mega-pixel factor by itself will not necessarily guarantee the best photo quality. For a tourist, having a super modern and expensive camera may be a waste of money. If you want to stay on budget, 6 mega-pixels should be good enough.

Digital cameras are nowadays automated. Everything can be done if you just click one button. Exposure control, auto flash, image zoom - everything is just one click away. Also, flash memory cards are used to store thousands of digital pictures. And it does not cost much. For instance, a card with 1GB memory costs $25.

When carrying your camera, always carry it around in a safety case. They are very sensitive and need an extra care. Don`t leave them in the sun, and avoid the water.
